Honda Expands its Electric Vehicle Lineup with Two Upcoming Prototypes

By 2027, Honda plans to introduce 10 electric vehicles (EVs) in China. Since spring 2018, Dongfeng Honda and GAC Honda have already launched the e:NS1 and e:NP1. During the upcoming Auto Shanghai event in April 18, Honda will showcase two more prototype EVs alongside hybrid and plug-in hybrid models.

While Honda has not provided much information about the newcomers, experts predict that the company will release a single car in two variations, similar to the e:NS1 and e:NP1 models. The teaser image released by Honda is shadowy, but it depicts crossovers that feature the same shape, although they may have redesigned bumpers and other distinctive details.

In addition to the two prototype EVs that Honda will showcase at Auto Shanghai, reports suggest that the company will unveil more EVs in the future. The previewed e:N Coupe, SUV, and GT, which feature ultra-sharp styling, are expected to be part of Honda’s upcoming EV lineup in China.

The e:N Series will be exclusively available in China, and both GAC Honda and Dongfeng Honda are constructing new EV factories in the country, with production scheduled to commence in 2024. Honda’s long-term goal is to achieve global carbon neutrality by 2040, and the company plans to transition entirely to EVs by then.
